Bathroom renovations in St George cover two very different kinds of home: Federation houses in Bexley and Rockdale with ageing cast-iron sewers behind the walls, and post-war units across Kogarah and Arncliffe where compact layouts make every fixture decision count.

EKORP plans for both before demolition starts. EKORP Plumbing is based at Bayside Plaza, Brighton-Le-Sands NSW 2216 and services Sydney's south.

Plumbing planned around St George housing stock

Federation and mid-century homes in Rockdale, Bexley and Banksia often conceal galvanised steel or earthenware pipes well past their use-by date. When a renovation exposes them, we replace affected sections with copper or PEX before the walls get tiled: sorting this at rough-in avoids expensive call-backs later. New shower heads and mixer taps also have a habit of revealing low water pressure from corroded supply lines, so we test and upgrade lines during rough-in.

Along the Botany Bay foreshore, from Brighton-Le-Sands to Sans Souci, we specify salt-resistant fittings, because standard hardware corrodes fast in salt air. In the compact bathrooms of post-war units around Kogarah and Carlton, targeted upgrades such as a new shower enclosure, a wall-hung vanity and a water-efficient toilet make a real difference without a full rebuild.

  • Cast-iron sewer connections assessed before rough-in
  • Galvanised supply lines replaced with copper or PEX
  • Salt-resistant fittings for foreshore homes
  • Compact-unit layouts planned before demolition

Four stages, certified at every step

We start with a site visit and a clear itemised quote. Rough-in comes next: drainage lines, pipe relocations, hot water connections and rough-in points, all completed before waterproofing, tiling or cabinetry, and coordinated with your waterproofer and tiler so they are never waiting on us. At fit-off we connect shower heads, baths, vanity basins, mixer taps and toilets. Requirements can vary by property and authority. We will help you confirm what applies before work begins.

What a bathroom renovation costs in St George

We inspect the job and confirm the price before work begins. Significant layout changes, such as relocating the shower, sit at the higher end. Every job gets an upfront itemised quote, and where it helps your water bills we advise on water-efficient toilet options that meet WELS ratings.

Bayside and inland, 24/7

Postcodes 2216 to 2222 are our home ground: bayside Rockdale, Brighton-Le-Sands, Sans Souci, Ramsgate, Banksia and Arncliffe, plus inland Bexley, Kogarah, Allawah, Carlton, Penshurst and Kingsgrove. Emergency arrival times depend on location, traffic and plumber availability. We will give you an estimated arrival window when you call. We also run combined bathroom, kitchen and laundry scopes in a single mobilisation, which keeps the project moving and the disruption down.

Questions

Common questions about bathroom renovations.

Here are clear answers to common questions. Call us if you need help with something else.

Is bathroom renovation plumbing tax deductible in NSW?

For owner-occupied homes, generally no. For investment properties it is more complicated: capital improvements (moving fixtures, replacing all pipework) are usually added to the property's cost base rather than claimed immediately, while repairs to existing assets may be deductible in the year incurred. Talk to a registered tax agent before assuming any portion qualifies.

Who pays for plumbing repairs in a strata scheme?

The owners corporation pays for common property, which includes shared risers, roof and balcony drainage, and any pipe serving more than one lot. A lot owner pays for plumbing and fixtures that sit inside their own lot and serve only that lot. Section 106 of the Strata Schemes Management Act 2015 sets the owners corporation's general duty to maintain and repair common property.

Can I replace a toilet pan collar seal myself?

Under NSW plumbing law, any work that involves connecting or disconnecting a sanitary drain, which includes lifting a toilet off its base, must be carried out by a licensed plumber. Doing the work yourself is not only legally non-compliant but can also void your home insurance if water damage results from an unlicensed repair. A licensed plumber can usually complete the job in under two hours.

Is EKORP Plumbing licensed and insured?

Yes. EKORP Plumbing holds NSW plumbing NSW Plumbing Lic 322223C, verifiable through NSW Fair Trading. Requirements can vary by property and authority. We will help you confirm what applies before work begins.
