How we find hidden gas leaks

No single tool finds every leak, so we layer methods until the location is confirmed. Electronic sensors read gas concentrations down to one part per million, well below the level your nose picks up. Ultrasonic detectors hear gas escaping through openings too small to smell. Infrared cameras render escaping gas as a visible plume on screen.

Then the traditional methods confirm it: a manometer watches for pressure drop across an isolated pipe section, soap solution bubbles on a leaking joint, and isolation testing narrows a complex system down zone by zone. That layering finds leaks inside wall cavities, under slabs and in buried lines without demolition.

Repairs, testing and certification

Once the leak is confirmed, gas to the affected section is shut off and the property ventilated before any tools come out. Straightforward repairs, a replaced fitting, a resealed connection, a serviced appliance, are usually finished in the same visit. Pipe replacement behind walls or under floors typically takes one to three days, and you get the timeframe before we start.
