Laundry Renovations Georges River
Need help with laundry renovations? EKORP services Georges River. Call to discuss the property, the work and current availability.
Where’s the job?
The Georges River area carries a lot of Federation and post-war homes where the laundry started life as a covered rear verandah. A laundry renovation here usually means turning that space into a fully enclosed, compliant room, and that is a job we do regularly.
Requirements can vary by property and authority. We will help you confirm what applies before work begins. Callout charges are confirmed before booking.
Verandah conversions done properly
Converting an old covered verandah into an enclosed laundry is the signature Georges River job. Requirements can vary by property and authority. We will help you confirm what applies before work begins.
That waterproofing step is critical and non-negotiable in a conversion. We apply the membrane and issue the compliance certificate as part of every job, so the room is covered for council, insurance and strata purposes at handover.
The full laundry plumbing scope
Whether you are updating a compact laundry in a Hurstville strata unit or building a full laundry room into a Mortdale Federation home, the plumbing is handled end to end by licensed plumbers. Tight laundries in Oatley units and Blakehurst townhouses get layouts planned to make the most of a limited footprint without giving up maintenance access.
- Washing machine connections with isolation valves
- Laundry tub and tap installations

- Hot and cold water reroutes, pressure-tested

Old pipes, poor drainage, low pressure
Open the walls of an older Georges River laundry and you often find galvanised steel or early copper pipework well past its useful life, and drains that were never sized for a modern high-capacity machine. We replace the affected sections with modern materials, upgrade drainage sizing and confirm fall angles before cabinetry and tiling lock everything in.
Low water pressure gets the same treatment: corroded or undersized supply lines are tested and upgraded during rough-in, so pressure is right when the new laundry is finished.
Coverage and cost across Georges River
We inspect the job and confirm the price before work begins. Every job gets a detailed written quote before work starts, and anything unexpected found during demolition is repriced with you before we proceed.

Questions
Common questions about laundry renovations.
Here are clear answers to common questions. Call us if you need help with something else.
Can a dripping mixer cause water damage?
A slow drip from a mixer spout does not typically cause structural water damage unless the water is pooling in a concealed space. However, a leak at the base of the tap body or at the flexible hose connections under the sink can saturate the cabinet floor and cause swelling, mould, and eventually subfloor damage if left unattended.
Does a plumber need to turn off the water to replace a mixer tap?
Yes. Replacing a mixer tap requires isolating the water supply to that fitting. If there are functioning isolating valves under the sink or behind the wall, the plumber turns those off and the rest of the house retains water supply throughout the job. If there are no isolating valves, the mains stopcock for the property is turned off briefly. This is one reason plumbers often recommend fitting isolating valves while they are doing the tap work.
Can EKORP Plumbing help with strata plumbing maintenance?
Yes. EKORP Plumbing works regularly with strata managers across St George and Sutherland Shire, handling common-property repairs, after-hours emergencies and scheduled preventative maintenance. We coordinate with body corporate and provide detailed invoicing that meets strata reporting requirements.
